Follow these guidelines to maintain food assistance eligibility.
Florida's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), often referred to as Food Stamps, requires that all Able-Bodied Adults without Dependents (ABAWDS), age 18-49, must participate in the SNAP Employment & Training (E&T) program. (Read these Frequently Asked Questions for more information about SNAP and the ABAWD status).
The goal of the SNAP E&T program is to help unemployed recipients of food assistance benefits find work. In Citrus, Levy and Marion counties, CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion oversees the E&T program in partnership with Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

IMPORTANT: In order to maintain eligibility for food-assistance benefits, ABAWDS must complete 80 hours of work-related activity each month.
If you are required to participate, you will receive a Notification of Mandatory Participation Letter from DEO. Once you have been referred to SNAP E&T, you must complete the following steps to maintain eligibility for food assistance.
Step 1: Complete Online Registration
You will be referred to the One-Stop Service Tracking Center (OSST) to complete your registration and will be required to complete the following steps:

- Online Assessment - Complete within 7 calendar days of your referral date
- Schedule an Appointment to Come to Our Center – You will have 3 days after work registering to schedule this appointment and the appointment should be completed within 14 days.

Please note: You will have access to OSST after you have completed an interview with the Department of Children and Families and have been approved to receive benefits.
